Focus on Second-Degree Repair
This course is an in-depth overview of second-degree repair, which represents the entire scope of suturing midwives can perform in a community birth setting. We will briefly review other types of tears, how to recognize them, and make the decision to recommend transport for additional care.
Prerequisite: Basic Knot-Tying Skills
Before starting this course, you should have a basic understanding of knot-tying. While we will demonstrate how to place anchor knots and bury them, we will not cover the foundational details of knot-tying itself.
